Quartzite is a metamorphic rock whose main component is quartz (over 75% in order of magnitude).
Some may have the quartz sandstone protolith (most common source), rhyolites, tuffs, quartz silica and silicon. Covers (pods) or quartz veins, often products of metamorphic segregation, are often reconstructed by cataclasis and metamorphic, giving rise to quartzite similar to those of sedimentary origin.
Its main mineral is quartz. Other components are muscovite, biotite, sericite, tourmaline, dumortierite
