The history of Bellinzoni Company is strongly linked to the Bellinzoni Family who established it back in 1937, in the city of Milan, the economic heart of Italy, which favoured Bellinzoni continuous growth up to the present days.
The Milan strong economic climate and the Bellinzoni’s family business sense have been vital for the Company’s success at national as well as international level. In fact Bellinzoni is now exporting to more than ninety countries worldwide.
Yesterday
The Company was established about 1937 thanks to the founder, Mr Pietro Bellinzoni’s perseverance and intelligence, that even with the economic crisis of 1929 and the looming World War Two, he went ahead and opened a workshop in Viale Certosa, this is a strategic position because of its proximity to the great “Maggiore Musocco” cemetery and to the historical “Monumentale” cemetery, where it is still possible to admire artistic marble monuments of great and famous literature, science and commerce personalities.
Obviously, in that time, the beginning was hard for Bellinzoni, due to the starting of the Second World War in 1939 however Mr Pedro used to say that even during the war, marble contractors were going regularly to his shop to buy small quantity of his marble polishers stating philosophically that ” life must go on.”.
The first product “Special Preparation for Polisher” was produced in 1937 and packed in its characteristic pink can popularly called “The Bellinzoni” by the workers.
It may seem odd today that in the 1940’s people would care about marble beauty when they had little or nothing to eat; this is because Italian people have an innate love for arts and beautiful things. Moreover, Italians have a deep respect for their dead and their tombstone – refer to the Poet, Ugo Foscolo’s “The Sepulchres”).
But times proved Bellinzoni’s business gamble right and on 11 September 1959 their first patent was registered: “BELLINZONI M.G.” patent number 152.434 related to the production and marketing of chemical for polishing, protection and treatment of marbles, granites and stones.
In the 1950’s and 1960’s, Bellinzoni products first became popular in the North then all over Italy. Later we started exporting to France and Germany opening the road to the international markets. Bellinzoni in the 1970’s entered into the European market and created a network of distributors in the most important countries.
With business growth, the Company developed from local to national and then international its historical residence at 93 Viale Certosa could no longer house the expansion. Bellinzoni’s third generation, headed by Mr Riccardo Ronchetti Bellinzoni transferred the Company to Via Gallarate 205 but still retaining the old premise.
Today
With the new production plants, managers’ business acumen and very substantial investments in Research and Development, (marketing, publications and exhibitions), in the 1980’s and 1990’s Bellinzoni’s brand was already worldwide known and the distribution network covered 60% of countries in the world.
In the late 1990’s, the third stock unit has been set up, located in Via Don Gnocchi, 1/a Pero – (Milan), moving to increase the production, faster and better delivery.
At the beginning of new millennium, the task force looking for the leadership and for more technological products and the affirmation of the brand "Bellinzoni" as a synonym for guarantee and quality.
Tomorrow
The Bellinzoni looks ahead: their managers qualified, trained staff, production workers and the fourth generation of his family still Bellinzoni continuing business, and at the same time, planning continued expansion of the company.
The dealer network is well established in all five continents, allowing Bellinzoni participate in a variety of projects developed around the world through subsidiaries and distributors.
