East, West

LOCATED IN THE SURROUNDINGS OF LISBON, THIS HOUSE WAS BUILT FROM ITS ROOTS.
ACCORDING TO THE PROJECT IT ADAPTED TO THE DIFFERENT LEVELS OF THE TERRAIN, GETTING FROM THIS FACTOR THE MOST AESTHETIC AND FUNCTIONAL  IN BOTH THE LAYOUT EXTERIOR AND THE ARCHITECTURAL INTERIOR.
THE MAIN FACADE, THE SIMPLE LINES WITH THE ROOFS AND EAVES TRADITIONALLY  PORTUGUESE
IT HIDES THE GARDEN AND THE SWIMMING POOL, THE WEST, TO WHERE THE ROOMS AND THE TERRACE OPEN.

The location is privileged: one old villa transformed into deprived condominium, in which the houses are surrounded by the green one of extensive golf courses, sprinkled of pines and firs. In the tactical mission that we presented/displayed in these pages the land was not flat. Then design a project, that adapted to the different elevations. From the outer point of view that adaptation was in a set of volumes, with several tile roofs to waters, giving movement and lightness to all the construction, in an aesthetic balance of Portuguese good plan, accentuated by eaves and the roofing tile of internode in tones dégradés of terra-cotta. The garden with swimming pool, is developed to the west, conserving a total privacy and being integral part of all the house through great glassed walls and of ample terraces. In the interior all the land uneven were profiteers to the maximum being adapted to a functional and dynamic and aesthetically original division. Organized for a family with three children, social zones and defined and independent private zones were created good, in communicating spaces that visually are not hermetically separated. The decoration is of the responsibility of Carolina Ortigão reflecting in each charming all their personality and all experiences. A tacit alliance between a contemporary style, worried in creating very comfortable atmospheres, in which the colours are coordinated based on the spaces, and a classic style marked by furniture and inherited pieces that are even allied to a strong Eastern influence, defines the masterful lines of all interior. The quality of life in the smallest practical details was privileged essentially. That quality with all unpretentious elegance became involved, in an atmosphere in which it desires to be living! A passage by the house, will be able to give one more to an idea clearer envelope to interconnection and organization of the spaces. Entering by the hall, traditionally classic with its surface in Travetino, giving ideas of slabs of stone worn away by the time, furniture D. João V and a flag of arms with the shield of the family, access to the social zone marked by a great window carved in wood in a gothic style is had that illuminates the movement of the sculptural stairs that lead to first stage. In an intermediate plane, in the mezzanine, an office serves from waiting room to the deprived zone of the owners of the house, including/understanding an ample room of bath with all the you complete technologies on whirlpool, bathe-Turk and sauna, the quarter with closets individual, a small room and a terrace with view to the garden and for the swimming pool. Under those stairs and at a level inferior, a living room where television can be seen in front the chimney.

Em baixoThe toilet area of social support plays with a contrast of styles, incorporating a set of classical pieces, a sink with modern design from Philippe Starck.
Oriente, Ocidente
On the first floor a big living room that opens for a terrace and to the garden and also communicates with the dining room and with the kitchen through  a antique wood carved door  from Birmania. Leaving the hall you will find in the front the living room for the owner’s children, including the common area, the bedrooms, the bathrooms and a guest room. The bathrooms were equipped with taps, jacuzzi, shower room and sauna commercialized by Jose Ricardo Botas.

Em baixoThe imposing entrance hall was decorated in a traditional way, with family furniture, as the pair of chairs and the hall side table  D.  Joao V. The floor in travertine with different colours, has a natural effect from the stones aging over time.
